Akbar Akbari Esfahani. Enterprise AI architect and causal scientist in regulated healthcare.

Akbar Akbari Esfahani chairs an AI governance committee and serves as enterprise AI architect at a regulated health plan, running an internal AI product studio. The work spans governed AI, causal measurement and analytics that live inside the work.
Long
Akbar Akbari Esfahani has spent seventeen years building production software and leading change in regulated healthcare. Akbar chairs the AI Governance Committee and serves as Enterprise AI Architect at Central California Alliance for Health, running an internal AI product studio and leading a PhD data science team. Earlier roles: Head of Data Science and Analytics at Vital Decisions through its acquisition by Evolent Health; Director of Data Science Innovation at L.A. Care Health Plan; and Senior Data Scientist and Head of Innovation at Highmark, standing up its first AI function and writing its AI and ML ethical guidelines in 2018. Akbar began as a mathematician at the U.S. Geological Survey and a senior statistician on the California Health Interview Survey at UCLA, and has taught data science at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College. Born in Iran and raised in Munich, Akbar works in English, Farsi and German.
